YEAT
Having analyzed several of rapper Yeat’s music videos, many of which were directed by Cole Bennett, I have observed a recurring use of 3D motion graphics. In certain cases, such as the video for “Out thë way”, the entire 2:35 minutes consist of a continuous zoom-out shot of sand dunes scattered with objects that reference Yeat’s persona.
For this reason, I decided to create a snippet of a song he released two years ago, titled “Flawlëss” in collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert, which does not have an official music video. To achieve this, I designed a fictional environment similar to the one mentioned earlier, where camera shots alternate with the perspective of a military drone, as if special forces were searching for something in the area. The snippet combines particle systems with cloth simulations, among other Cinema 4D tools, alongside detailed post-production work to generate various visual effects, such as dynamic camera shifts. Additionally, typographic elements are integrated in 2D, remaining present from the intro through to the closing credits.
